Hailing from Trondheim, Norway, Arabs in Aspic has been the leading light of 70s-inspired progressive rock and proto-hardrock in mid-Norway for the past 15 years. Their sound is a delightful blend of thunderous guitars and drums, warm 12-string acoustics, funky bass and percussion, wailing Hammond organs, soft Rhodes, Mellotrons, and 70s synths, all topped off with rich vocal harmonies. After the release of “Far Out in Aradabia”, the band played numerous shows. They recruited Hammond virtuoso Stig Arve Jørgensen on keys and backing vocals after seeing his amazing performance of “Hocus Pocus” by Focus. This led the new material to become more technical and progressive. The 2010 album “Strange Frame of Mind” serves as a bridge between the early days of Arabs in Aspic and the band we know today. The band went through significant changes and took a hiatus for a couple of years. Erik Paulsen joined on bass, shifting the sound to a more classic 70s progressive style. The album was recorded at Studio Studio, run by TNT guitarist Ronnie Le Tekrø. However, they were unhappy with the mastering by a guy who wanted them to sound like an 80s power metal band. So, the album has been re-mastered by Jacob Holm-Lupo. This album has been out of print for a long time, and now it's finally getting a proper re-release. It's an officially licensed Arabs in Aspic merchandise, limited to just 700 copies. Don't miss out on this unique musical gem!
Using this vinyl LP is easy. Just place it on your record player's turntable, gently lower the needle onto the groove, and enjoy the amazing music.
