Product Description
This is a limited - edition picturedisc album, with only 250 copies available. 'Origin' by Antropofagus is a masterpiece in the world of death metal. Recorded, engineered, and mixed at MK2 Recording Studio by the band's drummer, Davide Billia (ex - Hour Of Penance, Beheaded), and mastered at Hertz Studio by Wojtek Wieslawski (Vader, Behemoth, Decapitated). The cover artwork and layout were designed by Stefano Mattioni. The album features guest appearances from Mick Montaguti (Electrocution), Matt Sotelo (Decrepit Birth), and Dallas Toler - Wade (Narcotic Wasteland, ex - Nile). Antropofagus plays complex, technical, and brutal death metal, taking inspiration from bands like Suffocation, Cannibal Corpse, and Deeds Of Flesh. Formed nearly a quarter - century ago, before 'Origin', the band had only 'No Waste Of Flesh' (1999), 'Architecture of Lust' (2012), and 'M.O.R.T.E.' (2017) to its name. Besides Davide Billia on drums, the album has a new vocalist, Paolo Chiti, long - running guitarist and co - founder Francesco 'Meatgrinder' Montesanti, and bassist Jacopo Rossi (Dark Lunacy). Francesco Montesanti believes 'Origin' is the band's most complete album so far. Thanks to the pandemic, the band had time to work at their own pace, reaching a new level in track arrangement. The result is a fast - paced album that never loses its energy. The cover and all artworks, created by Stefano Mattioni 'Viron 2.0', use computer graphics and reflect a modern band that stays true to the roots of death metal. Debuting vocalist and lyricist Paolo Chiti was inspired by various sources like Lovecraft's Necronomicon, Sumerian demonology, Egyptian mythology, and classic and modern horror films. He is proud of his vocal performance and hopes to please both old - school fans and attract new ones. Tracklisting: 1. Origin 2. Downward the Spiral 3. While Nothingness Slithers 4.
