Black Market Karma's new album 'Mellowmaker' hit the shelves on June 6th, 2025, and it's available on eye - catching yellow vinyl. This album is part of the Fuzz Club Membership subscription. After the success of 2024's 'Wobble', 'Mellowmaker' is the second chapter in the band's two - part album series on Fuzz Club. Crafted single - handedly by Stanley Belton, who takes charge of writing, recording, and producing, the record combines analogue imperfections and tape wobble with modern techniques. It creates a unique 'cassette - like' lo - fi psychedelic sound that blends 60s pop, 90s neo - psych, and crunchy hip - hop breakbeats. Belton sees 'Mellowmaker' and 'Wobble' as two sides of the same coin. The album features washed - out saturated vocals and jangling Vox guitars, with heavier use of the fuzz and repeater sounds on his beloved vintage Ultrasonic. Synths take a backseat to dreamy mellotron samples. Drums, recorded with a single mic and processed through guitar amps or mixed with drum machines, lean more into 60s dancefloor breakbeats. At its heart, 'Mellowmaker' tries to capture the timeless and intangible, a feeling that runs through all eleven tracks. As Belton says, he's still chasing that 'Hiraeth' feeling, the longing for a home that might not exist.
