Product Description
This is a jewel - case CD. 'Nightfloating', the 11th album by FORGOTTEN TOMB, arrives four years after the highly - praised 'Nihilistic Estrangement'. It's a perfect artistic snapshot of where the band stands today. Drawing on its 25 - year experience, FORGOTTEN TOMB reinterprets its Depressive Black Metal roots, a genre it helped shape in the early 2000s with its first three classic records. This album masterfully blends the past and present, delving into darker realms and various shades of gray. From the anthemic title - track and the intense 'This Sickness Withered My Heart' to the complex yet harrowing 'A Chill That You Can't Taint' and 'Unsafe Spaces', the band adds a surprise with the dungeon - synth detour of 'Drifting' and the 10 - minute epic 'A Despicable Gift'. It's an uncompromising and refreshing album that sets FORGOTTEN TOMB apart from its followers. From start to finish, 'Nightfloating' clearly bears the mark of FORGOTTEN TOMB. The magnificent cover art is hand - drawn by Greek artist Satta La Main Verte, which perfectly matches the album's mood and lyrical themes. These themes follow the band's acerbic tradition, covering diverse subjects from introspective musings to all - out misanthropic aggression. FORGOTTEN TOMB says, 'We're proud of this new album. It's been a lot of work, and its release during our 25th anniversary makes it even more special. It's quintessential FORGOTTEN TOMB, sounding as expected but with a fresh take on the subject. There are many details in the tracks, and we can't wait for our fans to listen.' The album was recorded at Elfo Studio in Italy from August 2023 to January 2024, produced by Daniele Mandelli and FORGOTTEN TOMB. Daniele Mandelli, Ferdinando Marchisio, and Alessandro Comerio mixed it, and Davide Tavecchia mastered it at Twilight Studio in February 2024. Tracklisting: 1. Nightfloating 2. A Chill That You Can't Taint 3. This Sickness Withered My Heart 4. Unsafe Spaces 5. Drifting 6. A Despicable Gift
