Product Description
This is a digibook CD with a patch, and it's a limited worldwide release of only 1000 copies. 'Devotion' is the ninth studio album from Italy's top brutal tech - death band, HOUR OF PENANCE. HOUR OF PENANCE says, 'It's been nearly five years since Misotheism, and now we're ready to show our new work. Devotion is an ode to the futility of war, with no hope at the end. The album's main theme is the wrong - headed loyalty people give to leaders who send us to die under the guise of democracy, driven only by imperialist greed. The faceless crowd in the artwork worships these false deities. Musically, it builds on the band's 20 - year - old fast - paced style, adding more technicality and catchiness, with epic musical landscapes.' HOUR OF PENANCE, formed in 1999, is a well - known blackened technical and brutal death metal band from Italy. After three albums, they went from local success to international fame, touring across Europe, the USA, Canada, Australia, and Asia with big names like Cannibal Corpse, The Black Dahlia Murder, Devildriver, Deicide, Nile, and Behemoth. They've always created a complex, crushing death - metal sound, and they also use social metaphors in their dark lyrics. The new album 'Devotion' features long - time members Giulio Moschini (guitars), Paolo Pieri (vocals & guitars), and Marco Mastrobuono (bass), along with new drummer Giacomo Torti. Recordings were done at Bloom Studio and Kick Studio in Italy, and mixing and mastering were handled by Hertz Studio in Poland, known for working with Vader, Decapitated, and Behemoth.
