To commemorate 50 years of Pink Floyd releasing world - changing music, The Sword's guitarist Kyle Shutt has crafted a heavy metal rendition of their classic album, The Dark Side of the Moon. Named Doom Side of the Moon, the band and album feature Shutt along with a group of well - known musicians. This includes his bandmates from The Sword, bassist Bryan Richie and drummer Santiago Vela III, vocalist Alex Marrero (Brownout / Brown Sabbath), saxophonist Jason Frey (Black Joe Lewis / Hard Proof), and keyboardist Joe Cornetti (Croy & The Boys). Engineered and mixed by Stuart Sikes (White Stripes, Rocket From The Crypt), the LP will be released on August 4, the 50th anniversary of the British band's debut album, The Piper at the Gates of Dawn, and it has artwork by Christopher Schultz. The custom digipak packaging comes with a die - cut front panel and a full - color print on the disc.
