Product Description
Two years after their highly - praised third studio album, Nightmare Withdrawals, the Christchurch, New Zealand band Blindfolded and Led to the Woods are back in 2023, ready to make a lasting impact on the extreme music scene. On May 19, they'll release their fourth full - length album, Rejecting Obliteration, through Prosthetic Records.
Rejecting Obliteration delves into cycles of abuse and trauma, showing how the band actively seeks solutions with resilience. It's a powerful statement of endurance in the face of hardships and loss. Written lyrically by Stace Fifield (vocals) and Stuart Henley - Minchington (guitars and vocals), the ten tracks tell a common story of finding one's identity and hope beyond personal pain and psychological harm. This focus on inner strength is the very essence of Blindfolded and Led to the Woods.
On tracks like Hallucinative Terror and The Waves, the band retains its unique style of combining avant - garde progressive metal with sharp technicality and intense energy. This is largely thanks to the intuitive playing of Nick Smith (bass), Henley - Minchington, and Ben Atkinson (guitar), who have been friends and bandmates for over a decade. The album - closing Caustic Burns is filled with dissonant chords, and Fifield's vocal performance is commanding. His voice dominates the more intense parts of the album while also showing a rare vulnerability in the softer passages.
To enjoy this CD, simply insert it into your CD player. You can listen to it at home, in your car, or anywhere you have a CD - playing device.
