With Chris Campise on bass and vocals, guitarists James Carter and James Johnson, and Arlie Patton on drums, they were influenced by Metallica, Exodus, and Slayer. In 1986, they released their debut demo 'Helpless Souls', boldly declaring 'Attention posers: prepare to die!' In 1987, they appeared on Godly Records’ 'Raging Death' compilation alongside early versions of Atheist and Obituary. They then worked on a second demo, 'Death Shall Overcome'. In 1990, their opening track on Metal Blade’s 'Metal Massacre Ten' compilation got them high - profile exposure. In 2018, Divebomb Records released BETRAYEL’s complete discography as a 20 - song CD. After over three decades, the original members reunited in 2020 to create new music. They recorded from February to April 2020 in the same building where they made their first recordings in 1986. The result is the 10 - song, 33 - minute album 'Offerings', which truly captures the power and crunch of '80s thrash. The album, due for release on November 13, 2020, through Divebomb Records, is a must - have for thrash metal fans.
