Napoli Violenta emerged in 2018 in the Neapolitan hinterland. It's the work of four veterans from the Neapolitan Metal / HC Punk scene, their identities still a mystery. The goal was to blend Poliziottesco and Grindcore, two different yet related worlds. One is a cinematic genre full of imagination, and the other is a musical attitude. They may be far apart in time and space, but they share cynicism, infamy, and violence. The project takes its name from the 1976 Umberto Lenzi film 'Napoli Violenta', part of the 'trilogia commissario Betti' starring Maurizio Merli with a Franco Micalizzi soundtrack. It draws inspiration from early grindcore bands like Napalm Death, Terrorizer, Repulsion, Carcass, Extreme Noise Terror, and Brutal Truth. The logo is a great example of 'pezzotto' (fugazi art), paying both a conceptual and sonic tribute to the genre. With a fun - loving spirit and sarcasm, it sings in Napulenglish.
