Product Description

Get ready to experience the re-issue of 'Axioma Ethica Odini' on CD Digipak by Norse Music! This album is paired with the re-issue of 'Vertebrae', and like many of Enslaved's releases, these two albums form an important musical pair, both sonically and conceptually. By this time, Enslaved had shifted towards more progressive and avant-garde directions. 'Axioma Ethica Odini' struck like a lightning bolt from Valhalla, with a more direct approach to songwriting. The production of this album took a huge leap forward. The band started using their own studios in Bergen and brought in co-producer (and current drummer) Iver Sandøy. Parts were recorded in his Solslottet Studios in Bergen, and then the recordings were taken to Jens Bogren at Fascination Studios in Örebro, Sweden for mixing. The result was a powerful sound that set a new standard for Enslaved and progressive extreme metal. The By Norse Music (Ivar Bjørnson's own label) re-issue includes two special songs. 'Migration' is a hypnotic and ethereal track inspired by Enslaved's collaborative piece at the Molde International Jazz festival in 2008. 'Jotunblod' is a doom-version re-imagined for a special set at the Roadburn Festival 2010. These songs were previously only released as a 7” single. The album also features in-depth liner notes by Dom Lawson, a well - known figure from Metal Hammer UK and Prog Magazine, who has long supported the band's unique musical path. The album's design has been beautifully redone by Marcelo Vasco (known for working with Slayer, Kreator, Machine Head), while still staying true to the original artwork by Truls Espedal. Tracklist: 1. Ethica Odini 2. Raidho 3. Waruun 4. The Beacon 5. Axiom 6. Giants 7. Singular 8. Night Sight 9. Lightning 10. Jotunblod (Doom) - Bonus Track 11. Migration - Bonus Track
