This is a regular digipak CD. Decline of the I presents a unique blend of multifaceted post - black metal music paired with exploratory lyrics centered around existential philosophy. Hailing from Paris, Île - de - France, France, the band was founded by AK. AK has an extensive musical background, having been involved in numerous past and ongoing projects such as Vorkreist, Merrimack, The Order Of Apollyon, Neo Inferno 262, Malhkebre, and Diapsiquir. Decline of the I is his most personal work to date. While the band's first three albums were inspired by the works of French surgeon and neurologist Henri Laborit, the new album 'Johannes' takes a different path, drawing inspiration from the Danish philosopher Søren Kierkegaard and initiating a new trilogy. All the music and lyrics were written solely by AK, who also recorded guitars, keyboards, and some vocals. He is supported by a full lineup including SI on vocals, AD on bass, and SK on drums. The drums were recorded at Hybreed Studios, known for working with bands like Temple Of Baal, Ritualization, and Merrimack, while the rest of the instruments were recorded in a private home - studio. The album was mixed at Drudenhaus, which has worked with Alcest, Aluk Todolo, and Drastus. Dehn Sora, famous for creating art for Deathspell Omega and Blus aus Nord, designed the cover artwork, and David Fitt, who has shot photos for Perturbator and Alcest, took new band photos. The tracklist includes 'A Selfish Star', 'The Veil of Splendid Lies', 'Act of Faith', 'Tethering the Transient', and 'Dieu Vide'.
