Product Description
The album 'Syndenes magi' marked a pivotal moment in the long - standing career of Arabs in Aspic, being their sixth musical offering. After the releases of 'Pictures in a Dream' and 'Victim of your Father’s agony', the band solidified their new sound. They had a stockpile of songs, but after a mind - blowing King Crimson concert in Oslo, they realized their new material needed improvement. The next day, Jostein Smeby returned to Trondheim and penned the 12 - minute masterpiece 'Syndenes Magi'. He reached out to cover artist Julia, asking for keywords for a concept album. Her suggestions about anxiety became the spark for the rest of the album. Initially written in English, blending the vocals with the music proved impossible. Smeby then tried Norwegian, and it was a perfect fit, leading to the entire album being redone in Norwegian. Released by Apollon Records in the fall of 2017, this Norwegian - lyric album caught international attention. Jostein Smeby revealed that remixing the album was an arduous task. The band was divided on the remix idea, but the composer was determined to address the English lyrics. Re - singing the original English lyrics was a disappointment, so they removed the Norwegian vocals and worked hard until it improved. The remix and remaster process of 'The Magic of Sin' took over twice as long as creating the original. This is the sixth and final re - worked and remastered release of Arabs in Aspic on Karisma Records, masterfully mastered by Jacob Holm - Lupo at Dude Ranch Studios. The limited first - pressing LP comes in a special tri - fold cover, showing more of Julia Proszowska’s stunning cover art. Combine it with the first version of the 'Syndenes Magi' LP, and you can see all five panels of the painting.
