Product Description
Oak, a Norwegian progressive pop/rock band born from a folk - rock duo, boasts members with diverse backgrounds, ranging from classical piano to electronica, prog - and hard - rock, and influences from the alternative and progressive rock scenes. This results in a truly unique and distinctive sound.
Musically, 'The Quiet Rebellion of Compromise' is Oak's most dynamic album yet. It showcases a wide array of influences while still firmly rooted in familiar Oak territory, but with sharper edges and unexpected twists. After 'False Memory Archive', the band aimed to write shorter songs but ended up with their longest ones. As with their other albums, there are subtle nods to past and future songs in the Oak universe.
This album delves into an important and sensitive topic: suicide and mental health. To ensure the message is clear, the band sought advice from experts in the field. The album cover font partly features handwriting from real suicide notes, emphasizing the concept.
Oak draws inspiration from a vast range of sources, including classical music, impressionism, movie soundtracks, and prog - rock. It's no wonder they sound like no other band.
The album was recorded in Ljugekroken, mixed by David Castillo (Katatonia, Leprous, Opeth, etc.) in Ghostward Studio, and mastered by Tony Lindgren in Fascination Street Studio.
This is an officially licensed Oak merchandise. It comes as a 12" heavyweight white vinyl (actual color may vary from the store image), housed in a gatefold cover with a 4 - page lyrics booklet. Only 700 copies are available worldwide.
