Product Description
This is a limited marble LP with only 100 copies available. HANGING GARDEN, formed in 2004, initially started as a heavy, doom - oriented project. After nearly two decades, seven albums, and several line - up changes, the band has evolved to a more melodic and contemporary sound, wrapped in a sense of melancholy. Their compositions are dark, full of atmosphere, and highly emotional. At the same time, they show an open - minded and playful musical style. Rooted in the doom, gothic, and melodeath branches of metal, HANGING GARDEN showcases a versatile and multi - layered playing style, featuring both female and male vocals. They draw influence from a wide range of music and art. The new album, 'The Garden', delves deep into atmospheres that are both tender and harsh, devilish and serene. It takes listeners on a journey to mankind's spiritual roots, making them think about the fragility of our technological society. As Toni Hatakka of HANGING GARDEN introspects, 'There is a kind of energy in the songs that there wasn’t before, a feel of hope to contrast our old friend the despair, a strong notion of action against the familiar melancholy, or maybe a light amidst the comfortable gloom.' 'The Garden' is the follow - up to 'Skeleton Lake' (2021). It was produced by Jussi Hämäläinen (vocals, guitars) and Jarno Hänninen, and mixed and mastered by the latter at D - studio (Beherit, Shape of Despair). The cover artwork and new band photos are by Finnish artist Kalle Pyyhtinen. The album also marks the return of drummer Antti Ruokola, who was last seen in HANGING GARDEN seven years ago. HANGING GARDEN is likely to attract fans of Swallow the Sun, Ghost Brigade, October Tide, Katatonia, and Type 0 Negative. Tracklisting: 1. The Garden 2. The Four Winds 3. The Construct 4.
