Product Description
Limited to just 250 copies, this is a transparent LP featuring eye - catching yellow and orange splatters. HANGING GARDEN, formed in 2004, began as a heavy, doom - focused project. After about two decades, seven albums, and a few lineup changes, the band evolved to a more melodic and contemporary sound, wrapped in a veil of melancholy. Their compositions are dark, atmospheric, and emotional, with a dash of open - minded and playful musicality. Rooted in metal's doom, gothic, and melodeath branches, HANGING GARDEN showcases a versatile, multi - layered playing style, with both female and male vocals, drawing inspiration from a wide range of music and art. The new album, 'The Garden', delves deep into 'tender and harsh, devilish and serene' atmospheres and takes listeners on a journey to mankind's spiritual roots, making us think about the fragility of our technological society. As Toni Hatakka of HANGING GARDEN reflects, 'There is a kind of energy in the songs that there wasn’t before. A feel of hope to contrast our old friend the despair, a strong urge for action against the familiar melancholy, or maybe a light in the comfortable gloom.' 'The Garden' follows 'Skeleton Lake' (2021) and was produced by Jussi Hämäläinen (vocals, guitars) and Jarno Hänninen. Jarno Hänninen also mixed and mastered the album at D - studio (Beherit, Shape of Despair). The cover artwork and new band photos are by Finnish artist Kalle Pyyhtinen. This album marks the return of former drummer Antti Ruokola, last seen in HANGING GARDEN seven years ago. HANGING GARDEN is likely to attract fans of Swallow the Sun, Ghost Brigade, October Tide, Katatonia, and Type 0 Negative. Tracklisting: 1. The Garden 2. The Four Winds 3. The Construct 4.
