Before working on the follow - up to 'Black Moon Rising', Falconer took a break. Stefan Weinerhall didn't rush the song - writing process. He spent an extra year to ensure top - notch quality. Some early material was scrapped and re - written during the process, and Stefan co - wrote a song with his old Mithotyn bandmate Karl Beckmann. The influence of Mithotyn can be heard in 'Rapture'. Stefan added that they finally managed to include keyed fiddle and bagpipe in the music for a more medieval and folky feel. They also created the intense ballad 'Rejoice The Adorned' with only piano, keys, and strings. Mixed and mastered by Andy LaRocque, 'From A Dying Ember' was recorded at LaRocque's Sonic Train Studio. Stefan said this album has unique elements that set it apart from typical Falconer albums, with more going on in the music than ever. It's a Metal Blade Records item #157146 and has the code: Falconer - Ember - 2020.
