Product Description
This limited - edition gold vinyl album of Decline of the I's 'Wilhelm' is restricted to just 100 copies and comes in gatefold sleeves. Decline of the I offers a unique blend of multifaceted post - black metal music and thought - provoking exploratory lyrics centered around existential philosophy. Hailing from Paris, Île - de - France, France, the band was founded by AK, with an extensive background in various musical projects like Vorkreist, Merrimack, and more. 'Wilhelm' is part of a new trilogy, following 'Johannes' in 2021. It takes a different creative path, drawing inspiration from the Danish philosopher Søren Kierkegaard. Building on the base of 'Johannes', 'Wilhelm' adds a more structured and rigorous dimension. As AK says, it weaves abrasive avant - garde black metal with numerous samples, electro, and industrial music elements, creating a 45 - minute journey through five tracks that explore the angst of ethics. In 2024, Francis Caste at Studio Sainte Marthe handled the recording, mixing, and mastering of the drums, while other instruments were recorded at the band's private studios. T.C. from Regarde Les Hommes Tomber provides guest vocals on 'L'Alliance Des Rats', and Vestal from Merrimack contributes spoken words on 'L'Alliance Des Rats' and 'The Renouncer'. The stunning artwork is by Dehn Sora, and new band photos were captured by William Lacalmontie. The music video for the lead single 'L'Alliance Des Rats' was made by Laura - Lee Soleman. Tracklisting includes 'L'Alliance Des Rats', 'Entwined Conondrum', 'Diapsalmata', 'Éros N', and 'The Renouncer'.
