Product Description
Limited to just 100 copies, this stunning black vinyl comes in gatefold sleeves. Decline Of The I offers a unique blend of multifaceted post - black metal and thought - provoking exploratory lyrics that delve deep into existential philosophy. Hailing from France (Paris, Île - de - France), the band was founded by AK, with an impressive track record in past and ongoing musical projects like Vorkreist, Merrimack, and more. 'Wilhelm' is a personal milestone for AK. Unlike the first three albums inspired by Henri Laborit, 'Wilhelm' takes a new direction, drawing inspiration from Danish philosopher Søren Kierkegaard. It's the second part of a new trilogy that began with 'Johannes' in 2021. Building on 'Johannes', 'Wilhelm' adds a more structured and rigorous dimension. As AK says, it features loops, repetitions, and a relentless law - like nature throughout its five tracks that span over 45 minutes. The album combines abrasive, avant - garde black metal with various samples, along with electro and industrial music elements, offering a journey into the angst of ethics. In 2024, Francis Caste recorded, mixed, and mastered the drums at Studio Sainte Marthe, while other instruments were recorded at the band's personal studios. T.C. (Regarde Les Hommes Tomber) provides guest vocals on 'L'Alliance Des Rats', and Vestal (Merrimack) contributes spoken words on 'L'Alliance Des Rats' and 'The Renouncer'. The artwork is by Dehn Sora (Blut Aus Nord, Deathspell Omega), new band photos are by William Lacalmontie, and the music video for the lead single 'L'Alliance Des Rats' was recorded by Laura - Lee Soleman. Tracklisting: 1. L' Alliance Des Rats 2. Entwined Conondrum 3. Diapsalmata 4. Éros N 5. The Reno
