Product Description
This limited - edition album, limited to just 300 copies, comes in a striking black vinyl format with an insert. Decline of the I is a remarkable band that fuses multifaceted post - black metal sounds with exploratory lyrics centered around existential philosophy. Hailing from France (Paris, Île - de - France), the band was founded by AK. With a rich background in various past and ongoing musical projects like Vorkreist, Merrimack, and The Order Of Apollyon, Decline of the I is his most personal creation yet. The band's first three albums were inspired by the works of French surgeon and neurologist Henri Laborit. However, the new album 'Johannes' takes a fresh approach, drawing inspiration from Danish philosopher Søren Kierkegaard and kick - starting a new trilogy. All the music and lyrics were penned solely by AK, who also recorded guitars, keyboards, and some vocals. He is supported by a full lineup including SI on vocals, AD on bass, and SK on drums. Drums were recorded at Hybreed Studios, well - known for working with bands like Temple Of Baal and Merrimack, while the rest of the instruments were recorded in a private home - studio. The album was expertly mixed at Drudenhaus, famous for its work with Alcest and Aluk Todolo. Dehn Sora, known for creating art for Deathspell Omega and Blus aus Nord, designed the captivating cover artwork, and David Fitt, who has shot photos for Perturbator and Alcest, captured new band photos. The tracklist includes 'A Selfish Star', 'The Veil of Splendid Lies', 'Act of Faith', 'Tethering the Transient', and 'Dieu Vide'.
