Product Description
Arabs in Aspic, hailing from Trondheim, Norway, has been the leading force of 70s - inspired progressive and proto - hard rock in mid - Norway for 15 years. Their sound is a delightful blend of loud, heavy guitars and drums, 12 - string acoustics, funky bass and percussion, wailing Hammond organs, soft Rhodes, Mellotrons, and 70s synths, all topped with rich vocal harmonies. Their first work was the 2003 mini - album 'Progeria', initially released only on CD. In the early days, the band combined the psychedelic space - rock vibes of Hawkwind with the heaviness and darkness of early Black Sabbath. They were very active in Trondheim, doing numerous demos and performing live. Their rehearsal space was at the Hells Angels' clubhouse in Trondheim, which the police weren't happy about as some members were semi - pro ski - jumpers. Now, only Jostein Smeby and Eskil Nyhus remain from the original lineup, and Tommy Ingebrigtsen and Terje Nyhus have started The Flying Norsemen, an Arabs in Aspic tribute band. 'Progeria' has been remastered by Jacob Holm - Lupo. It was out of print for a long time, and now it's finally properly re - released. This is an officially licensed Arabs in Aspic transparent orange LP, limited to 700 copies. Don't miss out!
